Myron Smith (Marc Smith’s Father) introduced Humanitarian Support Foundation employees to Second Helpings (a 501 c (3) non- profit organization during a Lunch and Learn. The program’s mission is to rescue and distribute nutritious food from various sources of food that would otherwise go to waste. SHA delivers food donations seven days each week to feed the hungry programs, food pantries, and shelters in downtown Atlanta and the northern suburbs. Since its inception in Sept 2004, SHA has rescued and distributed over 3,100,000 pounds of food and other items. 
Humanitarian Support Foundation employees were inspired with Second Helpings and created “Giving up a lunch hour”. The group will work with Marc Smith and SHA and utilize their lunch hour to pick up and deliver food to a food pantry or shelter.
